Hello and
welcome to the world of UK online gaming.
UK Online
Gaming or "UKOG" for short, have been together since November
2005. Our clan was formed when a group of like minded, fair
online racers met while playing ToCA Race Driver 2 online on
PS2. We decided to get together to organise some race
meetings and UKOG was born.
We steadily built up our
members and organised "The Pre TRD3 Championship" which kept
us busy until the release of ToCA Race Driver 3.
Once
ToCA Race Driver 3 was released, UKOG moved to the new game
and started organising race events straight away. We very
rapidly became well known amongst the Pro Sim TRD3 community
on PS2 as a great place to race and we welcomed anyone who
wanted a fair race to join our rooms.
Our reputation
spread and we had challenges from other clans from around the
globe to race with them, all with great success and with some
good friendships built.
Our reputation also spread as
far as Codemasters themselves and a month before Colin
McRaeDiRT was due to be released, six members of UKOG found
themselves invited by Codies to go to their HQ in Leamington
Spa to view and play this long awaited game before anyone else
got their hands on it.
During the life of TRD3 we have
held many series and one off races ranging from Formula BMW to
DTM, held many different mixed bag races from Mercedes Silver
Arrows to Renault Clios and also hosted enduros like the 2
hour Bathurst Bonanza and Fomula 1 Silverstone Grand
Prix.Arguably our most successful series was the PRO AM
tournament which we have done 4 seasons and has produced the
usual outstanding UKOG style racing.
In the last year
the "Next Generation" of gaming has arrived and UKOG has
embraced this exciting new time with some members owning
PS3's, some with Xbox 360's some, some with Wii's and some
owning a combination of some or all of these wonderful
consoles.
UKOG has been a great place for forging
friendships in the real world as well as the virtual one. We
have got together several times since '05 with our first
organised meeting at the BTCC in Thruxton of June '06, since
then our members have got together at various motorsport
events such as the "Renault World Series" at Donnington and
again at this years BTCC Thruxton round, during the last
Thruxton round we had a real race organised at the local Kart
track on the Saturday which proved very popular. We have even
more exciting events planned in the future at various events
around the country.
If you like the idea of fair
gaming in a friendly atmosphere then why not hook up with a
UKOG member on the console of your choice to discover more of
what we're about, then once someone knows you and can vouch
for you, why not sign up to our forums to join in the fun.
Thanks for reading this introduction. Let the games
